The wrestling team is going into this season with high hopes of having a successful winter. Nate Gentlesk, Clay Bryant, Mac McLennan, Jack Bennett and Jonathan Peach will lead the team as the five seniors on the team. Those fab 5 have been chanting “road to one” all pre-season as they intend to win a ring for the first time in many years for Charlotte Christian School. The coaches: Coach Cam, Coach Robinson and Mr. Henson (with his love and support). The fab 5 along with Christian Furnari, Steady Cash and Christopher Carpenter are the returners that will help this team to their goal of states. The team, as a whole, is beginning practices and workouts on a hot note with much conditioning and hard, sweaty work on the mats. “This year, we’re going back to blue and gold with a vengeance. I’m not going to sugar-coat it, some of us aren’t coming back, but were ready to risk it all and put our lives on the line in Carry, North Carolina.” That is what senior, Jack Bennett, exclaimed as he expresses his excitement and determination towards this season. Jack Bennett will be wrestling in the heavy weight class of 220 lbs as he is the teams heaviest wrestler and will carry the load against the big boys. This season is going to be something to remember for this special group of guys. Lets help them in cheering them on at their matches! Go Knights!
