After an impressive showcase at Cita, Charlotte Christian’s Act 1 team travelled to Greensboro to compete at the North Carolina Thespians Festival. The whole team brought their A game with a performance of a play titled Murder by 10. Aside from their group effort, a number of the participants received individual awards for their small group and solo performances. The winners are as follows:

A great number of our high school students received the highest rating of Superior. Those receiving a Superior rating are eligible to compete in this year’s national competition in June. Alex Tan, Lauren Forget, Claire Owens and Hailey Thomas were awarded for their acting duo. Grace Dupre’ and Colin Gallagher both received awards for their monologues. Hailey Thomas received honors for her solo musical performance.

Several students were also awarded the second highest category of excellent. Liesel Brehmer, Annslie Burris, Samantha Cohane and Hope Winget all received an excellent rating for their ensemble acting. Colin Gallagher, Leah Cloninger and Lilly Mull all received excellent ratings for their musical solos. Leah Cloninger, Lilly Mull, Grace Dupre’ and Alex Tan were all awarded for their musical duets. Katherine Hanebutt was recognized for her outstanding costume designs.

Overall, Charlotte Christian’s Act 1 delivered this Spring Break. We are so proud of all of the awards they received and wish luck to those who qualify for nationals. Congratulations Act 1 and continue to shine on the stage.
