Every week is a battle, and this was our hardest one yet. On Friday, September 9th, your Knights travelled to Charleston to take on the West Ashley Wildcats.

The Knights arrived late after being stuck in traffic and rolled in to the stadium with just thirty minutes until kickoff. The team was antsy to arrive and showed this team and their fans that North Carolina teams can ball.

The game was full of back and forth scoring. The Wildcats boasted a strong run game and talented secondary, which challenged our team.

Freshman running back JB Awolowo kept the team’s spirits high with his two touchdowns, giving us the edge over our opponent.

Charlotte Christian fans were kept on their toes until the final seconds. With 56 seconds left in the game, the Wildcats found themselves on our 2-yard line, ready to score the game-winning touchdown. However, our defense had other plans. Relief filled the visitors section when they failed to make it across the goal line.

With six seconds left, Christian VanSickle took four seconds off the clock before walking out of the backside of the end zone to give the Wildcats a safety.

We kicked off with two seconds left, and the clock wound down as they attempted to return the ball. The Knights remain undefeated.

This week, our Knights hope to maintain their win streak as they take on the North Davidson Black Knights. It’ll be a battle of the knights and we hope to see you in our house on Friday.
