After their early exit in the second round of the playoffs last year, the Knights are looking for revenge. They had a successful 21-7 record last season, but they have their eyes set on the state championship.

The Knights will be without key seniors Rob Peterson and Kayle Mason, in addition to BJ Mack, who they lost to free agency in the off season (not really, he just transferred to another school).

Key returning starters will include point guard JC Tharrington (junior), Blake Preston (senior), and Terrelle Brown (senior); as well as key reserves Efosa U-Edomsomwan (junior), Seth Bennett (junior), and Garrett Shrader (junior).

A significant addition to the Knights is Paul Hudson (junior), who came to CCS from South Meck High School.

In the words of Blake Preston, “Paul, yeah he’s a beast.”

Other additions include Logan Jones (sophomore) and Luke Drees (sophomore), who will provide solid depth to the Knights bench.

The Knights hopefully will be able to avenge their early playoff loss last year with these talented returning players. Being led by Coach Shonn Brown, who is in his 19th year as head coach, the Knights certainly have great leadership and high expectations.

Reflecting on last year’s season, high moments included wins against nationally ranked Greensboro Day, along with a double overtime win against Cannon, and a 31-point blowout win against rival Latin on Senior Night.

The Knights recently played in their second scrimmage against Spartanburg Day School and the famed Zion Williamson. It was a sign of good things to come as the team, down 3 starters, competed at a physical level against such a talented opponent.

We wish the Knights more awesome memories this season and are excited to pack the Lamb beginning next Friday!
